about

In 1976, Rich Stim of MX-80 had an idea for a novelty song called My Declaration Of Love. I took his words and made a track, sang it and ...
thud. 35 years later I remembered the tune and made a track, adding to it until there was a song. Or is it a song? It's a melange of 60's vocal group stylings, disco cliches, and outright silliness. I realize I will never get anywhere by presenting silly music in a serious world, but, hell, I'm already somewhere and I don't give a shit if there are people who won't take me seriously over being silly. I had fun making this. I can hear Chris Bloch giggling singing the baritone parts. "we have had years to stop the brawling but the drama is nourishing and so addicting".

lyrics

when we met socially you cut me and walked away
oh that’s how you play, hard to get with no regrets

we have had years to stop the brawling
but drama is nourishing and so addicting
I hear everything you say about me and
I don't care, why should you? you can't control your brain
I’m impervious I provide my own pain

of course of course of course I’ll give you what you want
pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa

I can depend upon the kindness of strangers
but drama is blood and I am so addicted
I hear everything you say about me and
I don't care, why should you?
you wanna cause me pain? I’m impervious
I provide my own pain
